Meet Libby Tolm — Looking Friday
Meet Libby Tolm
Before launching Looking Friday, Libby built her reputation as an essential creative partner behind some of American fashion's most respected names. Through her development and manufacturing studio, Elite Knitting, she was trusted by luxury houses including Oscar de la Renta, Zac Posen, and Derek Lam to translate complex creative ideas into flawless, handcrafted knits and crochet.
That deep understanding of textile architecture stems from a unique background. Rather than traditional fashion school, Libby originally studied finance and investment. That analytical approach completely changed how she constructs garments. She builds structure three-dimensionally, working stitch by stitch to respect how a form actually moves.
With Looking Friday, Libby takes that exact mastery and turns it into an intimate, one-on-one process. Her work blends high-level execution with genuine artistic freedom, offering bespoke ready-to-wear, couture, and bridalwear that give the wearer a rare space to dream.
At the core of her work is a deep commitment to human effort. Rejecting standard factory assembly, Libby works directly with a close-knit network of master artisans and sample makers across her Texas team and international craft collectives. Together, they transform specialized crochet and intricate hand-knits into clean, modern silhouettes using natural silk, organic cotton, and deadstock yarns.
For Libby, Looking Friday is a return to purpose. Her pieces are made to feel honest, fit naturally, and move with ease. They are garments made to be worn, loved, and kept for a lifetime.
